Steve, your subtitle sounds too eerily similar to those of Holocaust survivor Louise Joskowitz who died last week at age 100 and who, in 1995, spoke of her 1943 Auschwitz experiences in a video I recently watched. Of the camp commander - who would order beatings and killings "for no reason" -- Louise said, "He was the king of the universe ... and he could do whatever he wanted." Chilling.
the destruction of trust is one hallmark of tyranny. If you can't trust the government, if your neighbors turn on you, if co-workers are complicit, if you cannot even trust your own children, how does one even survive? Anger and dejection ensue and are surmounted by subjugation and compliance. Tyrant Trump is winning and only We The People can now halt his advance toward conquest and subjugation of the American People.
It seems like his second term is a radical turn toward authoritarian economics: interest rate caps, the end of fed independence, tariffs, banning institutional investment in housing…
How is JD going to one-up Trump? How far can they go before they run to the left of Dems on economics? How long until Kamala is the free-market option?
In the last month there have been two issues that pose huge long-term dangers to Republicans: (1) Trump’s threat to take military action to acquire Greenland. (2) Trump’s effort to coerce the Federal Reserve into forcing both short-term rates and long-term mortgage rates down by 3%.
Trump backed own on Greenland because opinion polls showed that 2/3 of Republicans and 86% of all voters opposed that idea. If Trump had ordered military action, most of the military would have defied such an illegal order and he very well might have been impeached and removed from office.
The only way for the Fed to drive long term rates down by 3% would involve making massive purchases of 10 year bonds, the effect of which would be a huge increase in the money supply, thereby igniting inflation to greater than Biden-era levels. The end result: a Democratic landslide in 2028 and a hard Left turn forever in the federal government. Congressional Republicans either defy Trump on his idiotic Fed ideas or conservatism in America will be dead forever by 2030.
He's not deporting migrants...he's deporting illegal immigrants...ie;criminals...some with prior criminal activity from their home country, some with subsequent criminal activity after getting here. And due process...theyr'e surely getting the process due to them.

Nor only that, Warden, but we cannot rely on the press to tell us the whole truth.
I had no clue Trump opposed congestion pricing.

In light of what’s been going on it’s not implausible to say that she already is.
