Many American voters are tribal or voting between a giant docuhe vs turd sandwich because they do not see other alternatives. One solution would be more institutional decentralization and application of liquid democracy

That was a very interesting read. Thank you.

It's statistically impossible that only one side of a political sphere is all right and one side is all wrong. How about an article showing how the left violate human rights? ;-)

A statistical theory of both-sidesism! I love it. Why not a piece attacking gravity absolutists who think objects always fall towards the earth

When one political ideology always considers themselves right and the other side always wrong that leads to tyranny. In religious circles it's called a cult and in economics it's called a monopoly. And that is brought about when there is not a free exchange of ideas. I subscribed to the Unpopulist to broaden my spectrum of thinking but it seems more like an indoctrination program.

100%

I had subscribed because am old friend of mine posted on here, a post that has been proven to be an utter joke. Alas, I expected the folks at the unpopulist to be somewhat level-headed. But alas, I get proven wrong time and time again.

Whataboutism.

This is the intelligent responses one gets from liberal hacks who have no argument. Just spew out words and hope one sticks. No wonder our political discourse has gotten so asinine, nobody is actually willing to address the other's argument.

Tip top everyone here at the unpopulist: don't take the speck out of your neighbors eye until you take the log out of your own.

Populism is essentially anti-intellectual.It does not propose solutions, it only appeals to prejudices.

And you think any form of party politics is "intellectual"? Give me a break, man. Things have gotten so out of hand that all "democracy" has become appeals to emotions. All of them. Just open your eyes.

"We need to open the borders because the poor people who live in hardship elsewhere." That's an emotional appeal that people advocate for. It's very anti-intellectual.

Also, if I may point out, why is intellectualism considered such a great thing? Sometimes it's just straight up idiotic

No, not producing an intellectual reply is anti-intellectualism. General labels and name calling are straight out of the Liberal playbook.

Sometimes you need to check your perspective to make sure you're not stuck in a goldfish bowl looking out.
