I shook hands with George Wallace.

I don’t see any similarities with Trump, except they both got shot.

The difference from Wallace's time is that much of the rhetoric from the identitarian "left" has gone far beyond the color-blind aspirations of the LBJ consensus and the Civil Rights movement. "1619 Project"? "Structural racism"? "Equity"?

What goes around comes around. Unfortunately, the backlash is even uglier (and more widespread) this time around -- but (given the overreach), that should be no surprise.

Interesting comparison.

First Nazi rally to feature Jews, Blacks, Latinos, and females of every ethnicity and background!

Quite the feat!

And far less interesting and more intellectually empty than a Nazi rally. Fascism is a bold and vibrant and coherent ideology. Trump and the MAGA movement are nothing but degenerates spreading incoherence and anarchy. To paraphrase Nietzsche men like Trump aren't deep--- they aren't even superficial. His followers incapable of reason and discerning reality. Qualities that the Nazis and their followers never lacked.

When you have someone as bad as Trump, what's the point of comparing him to George Wallace? No comparisons, analogies, or parallels are needed. Just behold the man himself. Ecce Homo.
