Putin: "While we—we are proud that in the 20th Century" (conveniently skipping ahead three centuries from when Russia used its trade with the West to procure gunpowder weapons that it could not yet make itself, to subdue and/or eradicate its own indigenous people from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean) "our country led the anti-colonial movement" (which was anti-capitalist, but not so much anti-colonial, as Russia always intended itself to be the hegemon in the project of fostering communist revolutions wherever it could).

Putin's history is warped to suit. It's garbage.
