Thanks for talking about this; it's APPALLING, and I'm not seeing much coverage of it. It DOES shock my conscience, and makes me sick to my stomach. It's reprehensible. How are we ever going to recover from this?

We have so many outrages thrown before us that we're in danger of forgetting the ones that the Trump Regime, rotten and cruel to the core, would rather we forget. Thanks for holding this one up. I mean, everyday Sudanese are dying of starvation and privation every day. I shudder to think of what our deportees-slash-'forgotten/disappeared' are going through. Does anyone believe that the blood money we give the corrupt leaders of that country is going for the care and feeding of the deportees? Deportees whose only 'crime' was trying to get a good-paying job to feed their wives and children?

I am finding it hard to understand why this Supreme Court reasons as it does. The notion of the lower court stays is to prevent irreparable harm. In several of these cases it seems that the Supreme Court believes delaying enforcement of questionable policies will cause the administration some kind of irreparable harm by not allowing them TEMPORARILY to pause a policy that could be doing actual irreparable harm to actual human beings and possibly violates international law.

By this logic a state would be caused irreparable harm if they couldn't execute someone while their case is in the appeal process.

One can only conclude that the Roberts Court generally believes that challenging any policy of the executive branch, no matter how questionable, in itself causes irreparable harm to the administration. Therefore they must be allowed to do whatever they wish until (and if) the issue lands in the SCOTUS docket--- when they can place their own imprimatur on the questionable behavior.

Bush and Obama asked the Supreme Court for eight "emergency decisions" over 16 years and were granted 4.

Trump has asked for 41 and granted 30 in just two years. Was this because of the brilliance of Trump's DOJ and the strength of their legal arguments? Call me sceptical.

They are approaching Dred Scott levels of awfulness--- except the Dred Scott decision had an actual constitutional foundation. It also wasn't done in secret in the shadows.

Call me way past skeptical. The majority must understand your points above. They are, therefore, intentionally violating the 5th and 8th Amendments, and, therefore, they are violating their oaths of office.

It's sickening how inhumane and uncivilized some political factions have become. We need to oppose them.

The 6 GOP SC justices are corrupt & with the above decision cruel: 5 of the 6 are Catholic & are a disgrace to their faith. We need to impeach all six for history even if conviction is not possible.

The court continues to slouch towards Korematsu.

Pack the court!

SCOTUS should have deferred the ruling until it was advanced to judgement by the full court in session without shadows.

SCOTUS could have allowed the lower court bar on third-country removals to remain in effect until the case made its way through appeals. Instead, by allowing removals to third countries to proceed, SCOTUS foreclosed any due process for those removed and in many cases allowed these men to be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment, consigned to indefinite detention in countries where torture is common and human rights nonexistent.

If only so much angst was expressed for the victims of these criminal illegals aliens! Maybe there would be less victims if we had enforced the letter of the law over the last 20 years, and especially over the last administration.

So now the real question. These people being deported have had their day in court. Many have been convicted of violent felonies, and all have final deportation orders. Their COO won't take them. Our judicial system says that they can't stay here.

What other solution is there?
