Well, if you think the Muslims will treat Americans better, then I will present you with the Darwin Award. You will deserve it, in full.

Renaldy Calixte's avatar

That doesn't sound very Christian of you. Doesn't Jesus say love your enemies?

SV's avatar

Yep. But you can still tell the people you love they're fully wrong and not welcome if they don't behave appropriately. ;-)

Shut hhh's avatar

Why don't you go write a book about that writing prompt of yours, you seem to love crafting stories so much.

Shut hhh's avatar

You are the same people that go to the UAE and boast about how much better it is than the woke west.

Is there an element (lower in some but higher in others) of racism involved here? Is there an element of ignorance? Yes, probably (to both). And, it is perfectly reasonable and right to call racism out.

But given that it is Islamic countries that are the largest state sponsors of terrorism, it is Islamic countries and / or organisations that both explicitly declare and / or have genocide of Jews and destruction of Israel explicitly written into their charters and although there are some virtually insignificant terrorist groups associated with Christianity, Judaism and Hinduism, none of them can be put in the same category as those related to Islam, how about also providing some context of the overall situation? That's not to excuse racism. But your piece doesn't acknowledge at all that there are many very serious problems that are directly related to elements within Islam and those who perpetuate violence in its name.

(Credit for this copy / paste to Douglas Murray writing in The Spectator to illustrate my point for "context": "...the estimate of the British security services themselves.... Despite Muslims constituting around just 6 per cent of the UK population, Islamic extremism accounts for more than three-quarters of MI5’s casework. As far back as 2020 it was revealed that roughly 40,000 Islamic extremists in the UK were on the security services’ watch-lists as likely to engage or re-engage in terrorism.")

Renaldy Calixte's avatar

Why are you ignoring Muslim civilians who are not affiliated with any Muslim terrorist networks?

Also there are thousands upon thousands of Americans (mostly white males) in Christian affiliated extremist groups with easy access to firearms. They're is an increase of violent acts by such groups sincw Trump's rise to power and some individuals in these groups have been pardoned by Trump. Yet when Atheists point this out offended Christians cry prejudice towards all Christians and accuse these atheists of bigotry.

SV's avatar

Islamic ideology DOES NOT allow for compromise. They are not allowed to assimilate in any way. And violence is a prominent tool of the "religion of peace".

That's why.

When the top terrorist organizations in the world AND the most wanted terrorists are all Muslim, that's not a co-incidence. It's a signal.

Renaldy Calixte's avatar

So if that's the case why haven't my Muslim American co workers tried to kill me? Why haven't they been arrested on suspicion of treason? You are just an ideologue indoctrinated by xenophobic American intellectuals that probably worked for George W Bush's administration.

SV's avatar

I'm apolitical, solution minded and I studied Islam over 30 years ago before it was politicized and weaponized.

The reason your Muslim co-workers haven't tried to kill you is simple: It's because they are bad Muslims. As in every religion there are different factions and a myriad of interpretations, and sometimes human nature affects how they express Islam, and in the West you're going to need to soften your interpretation of Islam to assimilate into Western culture...

Why don't you ask them what happens if they're gay, speak out against Islam or Mohammed? ;-)

You need to educate yourself. You're playing checkers while they are playing chess.

This same logic could apply to a number of ideologies and faiths. I heard from an attorney that represents families and innocent people who have been victimized by white supremacy right wing domestic terrorist networks for the past 15 years. He argues Donald Trump's rise to the Presidency and reluctance to repeatedly and definitively denounce such groups has led to a huge increase in their recruiting numbers. Most of their new recruits are white Gen Z males and political violence within the United States has increased dramatically in this time as well.

It's embarrassing that a terrorist group plotting to kidnap the Governor of Michigan based on extremist right wing political ideology is brushed aside and forgotten.

Or that there was speculation political commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated because his talking points were seen as a poor indication of loyalty to extremist right wing political ideology. That a portion of Americans consider this to be true based on the pattern of behavior from other pro violence white right wing political figures.

I could take your argument about the Islamic faith and make the same observation Jimmy Kimmel made and say Charlie Kirk wasn't a "good right winger" therefore he was assassinated by true right wingers. I listened to an experienced attorney who has extensively white male right wing extremist groups so it makes sense. That right wing extremist groups view themselves as Patriots who must commit violent acts to save the United States from powerful wealthy secularists who are poisoning the minds of the youth. Killing them will protect the youth according to their ideology.

Both "true" Islamic faith and white supremacy based right wing Patriotism see violence as a just means to stop what they see as cultural corruption.

Charlie Kirk or my Muslim American co workers are just phonies who aren't truly practitioners of the causes they claim to believe in.

This is why I'm arguing your logic is flawed and ridiculous at best. At worst you are a xenophobic racist.

Shut hhh's avatar

Are we allowed to talk about people being persecuted without bringing up a thousand race crime and iq stats that you "biologists" can enjoy? If you want your racist rationalizations there's a robot for that, it's called grok, it will sit around giving you all the rationalizations you want against the category of people you find contemptous, it will pat you on the head and validate you all you want and tell you you're a good little boy for thinking of all this genius stuff.

Why do you need humans for such a contemptous task when it's been automated? Is anyone preventing you from asking for grok? It'll give you all the casual inference errors you want about anybody you want to feel justified about hating. It's not going to make your behavior not be a casual inference error, that's just what you're doing, but you can feel good about it and have tons of rationalizations for it, sure.

Human beings are not race and iq statistics. They either have or have not done something. They do not partially do something. Everybody who isn't innocent of something is just as innocent of it as everybody else who is innocent of it. It's not the case that a Muslim who's innocent of something is actually partially 15% guilty because of a race and iq stat you saw. They either did it or they did not do it, just like everybody else. Of course they're supposed to be understanding apparently that they're being accused of something of which they are innocent, how can you be understanding of being falsely accused? You don't think about that, they're Muslims so you treat them with contempt and pull a rationalization out of your ass to justify your causual inference error, and then you turn your brain off and your task is done. What a noble being you are; how great and kind your are and everyone should be grateful to you for this. I'm so sorry for reigning on your parade by noticing your praxis in regards to the category you hold in contempt, who's opinions and existence you assign to be of no value and so dismiss without thought. That's such noble behavior, how dare anyone be contemptous of your contempt.

CAIR's ties to international terrorism were all laid out in the 2007-2008 Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial. You can stop with the apologetics.

Shut hhh's avatar

I like your such a dumbass you will pretend that wasn't addressed in the article. I'm not going to tell you how you're wrong; open your eyes and read the article, rather than just regurgitating the first contemptous and ignorant thing that pops into your mind. I'm not your parent, you are an adult and have no excuse for your willfull ignorance.

Well, when the Islamists become the majority, as they plan to do, they will strip away your rights, Dave.

Why don't you go write a novel about that since you seem so good at crafting fiction. Would you like me to come up with some fiction too?

Muslims make up roughly 5% of the US population. The math ain't mathing on an Islamist takeover.

By immigration by procreation and by using our western liberal values against us, that is their plan. That is their mission. They are patient and resolved to the Islamist mission. It’s in their holy book. Disagree ? Take a look at Europe.

You are being xenophobic. That's a bad thing.

As Madeline Albright stated in Fascim A Warning, it appears to me the biggest internal enemy in the USA are the extreme far right outlined in this article. Hard to believe politicians could be so ignorant.

Another deceptive and one sided hyper-partisan screed.

Shut hhh's avatar

No, that's what you usually read, that's not this actually.

Shut hhh's avatar

Yes, what you usually read is, thanks for agreeing with that. See you've made progress. Is it really the responsibility of anyone talks about Muslims to copy and a bunch of rationalizations for your contemptous and hateful praxis in regards to them? Can't you go to grok and ask it for the fake race and iq stats and other garbage? Do you really need that from me? Am I really depriving you when I speak on this subject without patting you on the head and validating your contempt? Do you need some taucum powder for your booty too?

Can't you just be hateful and contemptous and keep that to yourself and jeebus? Or ask an automated system for mind numbing rationalizations, any of which you will accept without any serious thought or contemplation at all? Do you really need me to provide you with this service when you already seem accomplished in providing it for yourself?

A happy individual, especially married with children, and stable would not be producing the quite telling posts you put forth. Please get help.

Shut hhh's avatar

Contempt begats contempt. We would be well to remember that. This isn't my first rodeo with this garbage. The actually cause of all of this is that the GOP is doing poorly, so they need to generate scapegoats to distract. You convince people to scapegoat others by bombarding others with rationalizations and validating their contempt. Same playbook they pull every single time they step in shit and need somebody to bail them out. Oh but silly me so rude to be distracted by noticing such trivial things when I could be flinging rationalizations at the wall and getting upvoted by idiots like everybody else is doing. I guess that would be my praxis if I were a really healthy person, like all of these clearly so very healthy people who somehow despite their great mental health need to rationalize their contempt for others, and eagerly accept any excuse tossed on them for the persecution and scapegoating of anybody that's not them. I would be so much better if only I were like that, pffffttt not me, express contempt and give a thumbs up to the power structure and then go back to sleep. That's how so many high minded people act, and they've gotten us right fucking here acting like that. The only problem is anyone who's *mean* and refuses to play that game. Who's frustrated to see a bunch of adults acting in such a way. Who actually cares about what's true or not and not merely ephemeral feelings of contempt for others.

Thanks for this review of this bizarre development in American politics.

First any one who uses the phrase "Sharia law" as do most of the Islamo-hysterics betrays their fundamental ignorance. It is just Sharia-- Sharia Law is redundant. It's equivalent to saying "Muslim Law law."

Another is the inability of these nitwits to understand that many of the things they object to (like the dress of some Muslim women) are of ethnic origin and have nothing to do with Islam whatsoever. They way women dress in some Muslim cultures are the same way Christian and Jewish women have traditionally dressed in the same culture. While the Quran emphasizes modesty, interpretations and cultural traditions vary widely depending on personal choice, the Islamic sect, and local culture.

In 2000 the Muslim vote was 78% for George W. Bush. In 2024 they were supporting... checks notes... Jill Stein! Of course, Israel is complicating the picture. Muslims are culturally conservative and entrepreneurial and would be a natural fit for the old Republican coalition but have been driven away by the gratuitous demonization of their religion and their community. It really is short-sighted and crazy. It also will drive Muslims away for generations. Persecution tends to harden commitments.

I am also cynical enough to believe that these Republicans are cynical enough to believe that they can say what they want KNOWING that even the most conservative panels of judges in the federal judiciary and most states will never allow such blatantly unconstitutional legislation to stand. So they get the benefit of their Islamo-hysterical posturing without having to live with the consequences of having to enforce those laws.

I am waiting for the school curriculum here in Florida to start referring to Muhammad Ali as Cassius Clay and Malcom X as Malcom Little--- if they get mentioned at all.

Most Western people discussing "Islamophobia" and Islam have no idea what they're talking about.

The religion was founded by violence. Read Mohammed's biography, which was written less than 100 years after his death. Read the Quran and the Hadith.

The sole purpose of Islam is to make the entire world Muslim, and the ideology advocates for violence if necessary.

Islam DOES NOT allow homosexuality, treats women like animals, allows NO freedom of speech or freedom of association.

Anybody calling pointing out these facts as Islamophobia is ignorant and destructive and an enemy of the very Western values that we've enjoyed for 100s of years.

Islam is here to end all of those accomplishments.
