Thank you for writing this article; it does give one hope that there are some Muslims who have a code of morality that condemns violence against innocent people. The Israeli people do have a code of morality that values human life. As such, you do not see the Israeli government storing munitions in their hospitals or using their citizens as human shields. Not only do the Israelis value human life, they also know that the goal of Hamas, whose leaders were elected by the people of Gaza, is to destroy Israel and murder as many Jews as possible in the process. The attack on Israel is not just an act of terror. It is an act of war. As such, Israel must now fight a war with Gaza to protect its people, and they must be supported to fight this war until Hamas surrenders or is destroyed. The fact that the people of Gaza rely exclusively on outside aid that cannot get to them or their leaders is a problem for Hamas. Unfortunately, Hamas and Muslims who want the destruction of Israel do not care if their civilians die in this war, because they do not value human life.
Well, the spirit of the piece was to get away from finger pointing and do some soul searching on each side. But your comment conflating Hamas and Muslims is truly uncalled for. Israeli people have a code of morality but Muslims don't is the kind of comment that snuffs hope.

I do not have any hope of peaceful coexistence with those whose primary purpose is the destruction of nonbelievers.
