There were two against President Ford and a nearly deadly one against President Reagan. Yet, as far as we know, none against Presidents Biden, Obama, Clinton or Carter. Why are right wing Presidents in danger of this but not left wing Presidents?
A basic principle of security is "Minimize the attack surface." The ballroom would do the opposite, letting more people into the White House and greatly increasing the number of cubic feet to be secured.
