Great Piece. I appreciate the level of specificity, articulating the levels of classified categories. Very helpful and powerful in understanding the scope of this drama!
Your article is very informative. The documents referenced in the indictment appear to be agency records rather than Presidential or personal records. Is my assumption correct? DJT apparently had the authority to place them into the boxes when he was still in office. Is this correct? Do we know whether he was briefed while in office regarding what he could do with agency and/or highly classified records once he was no longer President? It seems to me that this would be an important fact relative to the intent requirement on at least some of the unlawful retention counts, although in many of the 1-31 counts he allegedly retained the records up until the time of the search.
Great analysis. As you demonstrate, by looking at the inverse of something, we can learn more about a topic. By looking at what is not part of the indictments, we get a better sense of the true severity of the issues within the indictment.
But my question still is...why would Trump do this? Why actively hide documents from a subpoena? Is it merely a matter of stubbornness? Or was there an additional motive that has not yet come to light?
The indictment is a ploy. Nobody really wants a trial. The indictment is a cudgel to beat Trump with by the media, Democrats, and never Trump Republicans for the next year and a half. The trial will be delayed until after the election and then Trump will be pardoned by Biden, hoping to set a precedent for his future legal problems.

Really important analysis

Great piece, though very depressing. Does the government have a list of all the documents that were taken? If so, have they all been returned?
I guess that even if that's the case we still can't know all the damage that may have been done since he was showing the stuff off willy-nilly.
Now do.....Biden, Obama et all having Classified Documents in their possession. OR Hilary dumping classified emails onto a public server. Thanks!
Nah ... i don't debate whataboutism with people who argue in bad faith. Thanks for reading though.
