Only someone completely blinded by hatred for Trump could write such nonsense as the author spews here.

"You have a constitutional right to petition the government for redress of grievances, yet you may not file a bogus claim for veteran’s benefits."

A completely bogus analogy. The evidence for massive fraud in the 2020 election is not absolutely conclusive, but it's strong enough to be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly, not swept under the rug as was done by nearly everyone in America, this author included. Trump had and has every right to make the claim that he was cheated.

No, I'm not a Trump fan: the guy is clearly an idiot, just as every major politician is. That's no excuse for railroading him into jail.

I used to like the Cato Institute and respected its authors, but this is a perfect example of why and how that opinion has changed.

Would you mind linking to information about what you consider the strongest evidence of outcome-determinative (in even just a single state) fraud, something that you don't think has been investigated thoroughly enough by the dozens of court cases, legislative hearings, bar disciplinary panels, and so on?

> Trump had and has every right to make the claim that he was cheated.

Well, he not only made that claim but allegedly asked state legislatures to change electoral votes in his favor, organized fraudulent electors, tried to get the Justice Department to help replace legitimate electors with his fake electors, urged the VP to illegally alter the election results, and encouraged a mob charging on the Capitol during the certification process. In other words, after his attempts to use speech and legitimate legal processes to challenge the results failed, he used illegal means to continue trying to alter the result. Much of that still may not have been criminal if he did in fact believe in good faith that Biden's win was fraudulent. The prosecutors will have to prove otherwise.

p.s. Here's one article explaining why mass fraud appeared unlikely as of early December 2020, linked to by the author of this post on Dec 7, 2020: https://www.wvnews.com/how-we-can-be-confident-that-trumps-voter-fraud-claims-are-baloney/article_b2325544-5fc6-5bec-ae35-76da04aa5ef7.html

Excellent and systematic review of the indictment. Very compelling! Thank you for this article.

Kabuki injunctions will not accomplish their sole reason for existence.

They won't keep Trump from running. And --- since China's gift Covid has lost much of its edge --- winning.

Sour outlook, even if not as rotten as the image of Biden winning.
