The habitual American bad habit. Buddy-up to solve a perceived geopolitical need, even if the "buddy" exhibits unfortunate human rights tendencies, or worse, at home. I don't have any easy answers. But this is, of course, a problem that is neither new, nor limited to Americans. But, "Whew!", America has a sordid history in this regard. Almost as bad as the UK. 😂
