Putin for years (and foreign policy experts before him) warned about how grievous a mistake it would be for the U.S. to meddle in Ukraine and try to pull it into NATO. The brightest of red lines for Russia...it would be the equivalent of Russia overthrowing the govt of Canada or Mexico and turning it into an aggressive puppet proxy against the United States. Heck look at how we were about to lash out over Soviet missiles in Cuba
This was a foreign policy misadventure that we should've never waded into...ultimately John Mearsheimer got it right, Stephen F Cohen (RIP) got it right. These are the voices we needed to be amplifying years ago
Thankfully we have a President now who isn't interested in doubling down and getting us all killed in a nuclear war with Russia, because that's where we were headed. And calling Russia the aggressor here...come on now. That dog won't hunt
The greatest aggressor the world has every known is the United States of America. What was once an ideal that graced the world has grown into the world's greatest dictatorship under the guise of "democracy".
Under the guise of "democracy" they have overthrown duly elected leaders, created false flags, false wars for profit (see Iraq and Serbia / Kosovo) and lied to the masses for decades about it all with zero accountability.
They encroached on Russia until Russia could no longer allow it and fought back.
The new Liberalism itself in inherently tyrannical, because it poses to know better what the individual wants than the individual themselves, and so it continues to encroach on society like a constrictor snake, slowly squeezing it's prey into submission. They do it with wars, they do it with politics, they do it with health measures (just look at the lies and frauds perpetrated by the pandemic, which have now been laid bare for all to see).
This is not the Liberalism of our forefathers.

In a world history of the Mongol brutal invasions, the British and French Empires, Rome, the spread by the sword of Islam, etc etc this is rather…hysterical.Especially given the history of the Russian Empire and its brutal spread into Asia And heck, while I agree with your basic argument that the united Ststes was and is a bad force, thst doesn’t mean that we should support the invasion of Ukraine. I can't read this without being struck by the parallels to the United States. This country, too, is led by criminals whose only goal is looting, and who invent ideology around that goal.
