The economy is actually very strong in America right now so that comparison isn't valid. Also, mainstream media has tried to get interviews from Putin, he just won't grant them. Putin figured Tucker would be a soft interviewer who would allow him to rant about any topic he wanted without much in the way of pushback, and he was right.
By any objective standard the American economy is doing great. Unemployment is only 4%, which is about as low as it can go. The stock market is doing quite well. GDP growth is consistently strong. Inflation continues to go down. Median household income has risen almost 40% in the past few years. Working class wages have made huge gains relative to the middle class over the last couple years, reducing inequality.
You bring up longer term factors that are a problem, and have been for decades, but you ignore the corresponding longer term threats that the Russian economy is facing. I'd wager that the US economy has the potential to be in much better shape than Russia's 10-20 years from now, it's more diverse, free, and dynamic. As long as we avoid the isolationist impulse to raise barriers to international trade our economy will continue to thrive.
The longer term debt issue will need to be resolved, but I would disagree that spending is out of the control - the issue is that the US tax system doesn't cover the spending. US income tax rates are way too low, they were much higher in the 50s and 60s and as a result the government was sufficiently funded without excessive borrowing. Trickle down economics have been proven over and over not to work. Reagan was a good president on foreign policy but his obsession with reducing taxes only served to increase wealth inequality. You can't reduce taxes without reducing spending, but neither party ever reduces spending. At least the Democrats make a good faith effort to fund their spending through taxes, unfortunately the GOP is constitutionally incapable of raising taxes it seems, even though they spend just as much as the Dems.
Lastly, you mean to imply Tucker is an objective reporter and not a propagandist? Hahahaha, that's a good one! Putin has no problem with journalists lying about everything, he has plenty of them within Russia to do his bidding. What he doesn't like are objective journalists who tell the truth - those kind tend not to live long in Russia. Tucker's lucky he doesn't live there, although on second thought, given that he is an excellent propagandist, he might be able to have quite the successful career as a Russian state "journalist".

Absolutely disastrous reply.
Sorry, but this isn't Elon's X. If your comment is needlessly hostile and insulting, it has no place here.
> Pretending that...
What if these people aren't pretending though? What if they actually believe the things they say?
Feel free to contest any of the points made in the video!
