The fight against systems of impunity is the unifying theme. Corruption for profit or perversion must result in jail time. The Epstein class and grifters overlap significantly.

Congressional oversight matters most when it is treated as an institutional responsibility rather than merely a partisan tool. Accountability should not depend on which party occupies the White House.

He’ll pardon himself and all of his cronies.

It has to start with the impeachment of the Orange One. This will pre-empt the blanket pardons. I believe he can be removed from office if the senate changes its rules to allow impeachment by secret ballot, as Andy Craig suggests in these pages.

We should also be looking at ways to limit or void the immunity grants to begin with. For instance, on the grounds that the Constitution doesn’t allow selling them, and that the equitable doctrine of “unclean hands” nullifies them. Then there are potential state law prosecutions, as well as class action suits…. My point is that the crooks have spent decades mangling the rule of law with their twisted arguments, so shutting them down and preventing similar criminal enterprises in the future will require concerted action and creative thinking.

Enforcement is the real problem. The Constitution only works if Congress does their job responsibly.
