Thanks for the text. It feels crazy that Trump is "improting" ideas from Russia regarding military parades.

We the people of the United States will be having a shared ritual on June 14th: our Constitutionally-given right to freedom of assembly.

Millions of us are going to march in hundreds of cities to protest what the country has become. Will you be there?

Lies are an all-consuming endeavor. Lies devour one’s time, energy and he who proclaims them. Those who regularly engage in this practice eventually do not realize that they are lying. Lie upon lie piles up and the entire project ultimately is so riddled with contradictions that the house of cards collapses. Marco Rubio’s claim that the administration knew nothing about Israel’s plans for attacking Iran is a case in point. 24 hours later, Rubio’s boss states exactly the opposite. He did have knowledge of the plan. Rubio, Trump and the rest of the cabinet engage in more than the Russian firehose of disinformation. Trump’s administration engages in a Firestorm of Lies. Their credibility has been destroyed by their own actions. Trust is the foundation of human cooperative endeavor. Without trust we cannot build grand projects, fly to the moon or even purchase goods with “Money”. We all trust that each one of us believes in the value of money. These bits of paper are more than bits of paper which are exchangeable for goods and services. They are a foundational principle upon which society stands and which is based on trust. Lying erodes trust and destroys the fabric of society. Eventually lies devour themselves. They become unsustainable. Yes, we need national rituals, history to celebrate and even myths to bring us together in common purpose. But in order to do that, we need to stop telling lies. Trump’s party and the other party could start the process, but they won’t. It will be dependent upon We The People to re-build this foundation.
