Buddy, get back to me when the FBI is no longer colluding with giant social media companies to ensure their guy is victorious.

Some democracy.

A solid, useful analysis. But what are the chances of this legislation passing before control of the House passes to a Republican leadership that will most likely bury it?

I would say pretty good. Obviously nothing guaranteed until it's done, but that it will be attached to one of the must-pass bills (either the short-term CR or the omnibus) in December has been the understood plan for a while, and everything indicates that's still the expectation.

If nothing else, it could also be brought and pass as a standalone bill, though that's less likely.

It wasn't a coup attempt.

During the 2016 election, Democrats falsely accused Trump of "colluding with Russia". It spurred a massive investigation with the attempt to discredit Trump's legitimate presidency. A full investigation found NO EVIDENCE of collusion even though he was accused of doing so. What they did find is that Russia DID interfere with the election using social media mis/disinformation campaigns. The Democrats have done just that, being much more savvy with social media use and with MOST social media during the 2016 election swinging left in direction, the Democrats used censorship and misinformation campaigns to influence the general public.

This is all hard to prove, especially when Democrats have (or had) the entire social media under their thumbs but things are changing. The multi- state coalition law suit against the Biden government led by Missouri and Louisiana are going to show collusion with social media was a powerful Democratic weapon.

Musk's takeover of Twitter is showing the same. That Democrats primarily were using social media to manipulate perception of the general public and shape public opinion and by extension election results.

In a Free and truly democratic society you CAN NOT have a media influenced by politicians.

And THAT is what you ALL should be fighting for and not fighting over partisan gain.

Good luck getting these "classical liberals" to even respond to what you're saying. They'll keep harping on how "dangerous" populism is, while evident collusion between giant corporations, the democratic party, the FBI, etc is ignored. They don't care so long as it works on their favor. Nobody here is interested in truth. They're just interested in keeping you and I out of the political process. And if that includes putting restrictions on free speech on the name of "saving democracy", they'll just accuse us of pushing misinformation that should be banned.

They don't care. Don't even bother.

Agreed. If Democrats were truly interested in Democracy they'd be providing voter ID to every voter in the country the way every civilized, Western country does. The US is one of the only Western countries that DOES NOT NEED PROOF OF IDENTITY to vote throughout the country. Even most Americans don't realize that nearly 20 states don't require ID to vote. If they did there would be an uproar. And if anyone doesn't believe me though, just do some reading on it. The Federal Law Suit by Missouri / Louisiana against the Biden administration for collusion with social media hopefully brings back some balance to freedom of speech.

Not going to hold my breath. The corruption runs incredibly deep and you have to be incredibly ignorant or stupid not to see it.
