We in the west have a simplistic and naive view of both Buddhism and Hinduism. Most of us have generally assumed them immune to the manipulation of political weaponization the way we know that Christianity and Islam (and now Judaism) have been weaponized.
While the Modi regime may be advanced in the degree of cruelty used and fear imposed Trump and his 21st National Socialists are displaying a sophisticated degree of efficiency that almost rivals their 20th Century German forbears. Fortunately in America we have limited ourselves to deportation and haven't resorted to extermination. Yet.
Trump deserves the Mother Teressa" Humanitarian Prize for not being as bad as Modi and a Nobel in Economics for not restricting trade as much as North Korea, and another for preserving more central bank independence that Turkey and a third for net CO2 reduction policy superior to Germany.
