Hi Steersman. Thanks for reading. I wanted to clarify something. No one at The UnPopulist has hidden any comments. This is what happened: Substack very recently rolled out a comments section update, and as part of that, they made activating a specific new comment section feature the new default. What new feature? Automatic comment moderation. Substack made this the new default for publications. And, for some reason, it automatically hid every comment under this post. I untoggled it now. But this wasn't a case of us hiding anything. We do have rules for our comment section, but we intervene and enforce far less often that you've suggested here.

Somewhat en passant, Substack seems a decent and useful platform, though still rather buggy in many ways. It still and continually pisses me off that clicking on a notification often takes one to the Note rather than to the original Substack article and comment itself. Real hassle to get back from the Note to the comment. Grievance/bug 97283... 😉🙂
Though, more broadly, it might be nice if you addressed my point that "islamophobia" is not all that unwarranted. I remember reading, 10 or 15 years ago, Ibn Warraq’s "Why I’m Not a Muslim" -- rather lengthy book, chapter and verse on that "why". But in particular, I remember reading a review of it by UK philosopher Anthony Flew who argued, if I remember correctly, that Islam is "flatly incompatible with western secular democracies".
In that same vein, Muslim reformer Shireen Qudosi once argued that "Islam needs to reform or it needs to die" -- don't see much evidence of the former happening so those democracies might reasonably want to hasten the latter, at least in their own countries.
Seem to recall that one of the largest population transfers in recorded history had been the one that created Pakistan out of a "greater India" largely because Muslims generally don't play well with anyone.
Any rational person is islamophobic.
