Power consolidation is the most troubling to me. I’m outraged by the grift, corruption, and retribution activities, of course. And by the illegal policies and executive orders.

But my understanding of history is that authoritarian breakthroughs typically last 30+ years and that none of those in modern history that began with an election ended quickly. They end through revolution, coup, or war, not at the ballot box.

The authoritarians are moving incredibly fast and via multiple points of attack. Our elections are already gerrymandered so badly that only a handful of races are competitive.

I hope the public rejects these tactics and votes overwhelmingly for candidates who are committed to badly needed reforms, like proportional representation and multi-member districts rather than single winner races in gerrymandered districts. And the right to citizen-led ballot measures in every state.

If reform is blocked, then it appears states will need to reject federal rule in meaningful ways that enable them to act on behalf of their constituents.

It's as if our press and media have developed a case of amnesia. The red, pink and lavender black lists are within my memory.

Reminds me of the hilarious Klingon line at the end of one of the very best Star Trek episodes, when all was revealed in the “The Chase”- “That’s it”. We the Living in Idiocracy. Here we are now, Trump entertain U.S. And may the piper lead U.S. to reason and Trump finally be impeached, removed and incarcerated for use and abuse of power. Fourteen “suspected drug traffickers” still cannot be reached for comment. At this point one can only hope and pray, because one side of Congress has happily joined the Trump rain and the other is in park on the other side of the tracks. God help U.S.
