I do not understand the quote about 60 Minutes having difficulty finding people willing to go on record. Maybe they reached out only to partners at Paul Weiss? Lawyers at smaller law firms are happy to go on record. The amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie had hundreds of signatories.
Can Congress bar contempt enforcement? That seems like an unconstitutional encroachment on the core functions of a co-equal branch of government. If that language survives to be made law, I would expect courts to strike it down.
