The thing is that crypto can be used as for making it easier for humans to migrate between countries and world regions. Because it is not only about decentralised money but also about decentralised identification and citizenship https://vladanlausevic.medium.com/world-decentralized-citizenships-and-the-future-of-humanity-b606cd0fe29d

Even among users of Bitcoin or crypto in general, there are divisions and disagreements. While many think that "Trump is good for crypto" others think that Trump's behaviours around crypto are absurd and against values of decentralisation https://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/17/ethereum-co-founder-warns-against-voting-only-on-pro-crypto.html

It is such a paradox and absurdity that people like Trump are using crypto because crypto is everything they hate and dislike regarding politics - decentralised, global, globalising, interconnecting, diversity, non-discriminatory, human rights etc.

Great explainer of crypto and how Trump is using it in yet another scam which is how he's done business his whole career. I love the line, it's "the product Trump has been waiting for his entire life."

Crypto is the perfect, decentralized currency for a thriving democracy.

As Governments continue to centralize power, the push for a digital currency is a democratic disaster that will eliminate untold swaths of freedom that only cash can provide.

It will give Governments full control over the people, rather than the people having full control over the Government.

Society in general (and not just the US) are quite literally headed toward a dark, dystopian future and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it.

I believe many people are counting on Crypto being that solution.

Well yes, crypto can be used for democracy as for decentralised communties governing usage and value of cryptocurrencies, and also for co-creating civic initiatives and engagement https://vladanlausevic.com/2022/06/18/podcasting-about-crypto-democracy-migration-decentralization-globalization-and-identification/

It's unfortunate because there are some narrow use cases for crypto, and smart regulation would make it easier to stop scams. I wrote an open letter of specific applications to the chair of the House Financial Services Committee after the election.

Very interesting to read about your experience and proposals regarding Arkansas. I have written earlier about Utah and Wyoming https://aidblock.org/utah-state-law-for-daos/
